HARMonized dataset of Ozone profiles (HARMOZ)

The harmonized dataset of ozone limb profiles includes the data from six instruments:

Envisat satellite

  • Global Ozone Monitoring by Occultation of Stars (GOMOS)
  • Michelson Interferometer for Passive Atmospheric Sounding (MIPAS)
  • Scanning Imaging Spectrometer for Atmospheric Chartography (SCIAMACHY)

Odin satellite

  • Optical Spectrograph and InfraRed Imaging System (OSIRIS)
  • Sub-Millimeter Radiometer (SMR)

SCISAT-1 satellite

  • Atmospheric Chemistry Experiment – Fourier Transform Spectrometer (ACE-FTS).

 

  

 

The harmonized dataset is the collection of ozone profiles from individual instruments, which are:

  • screened for invalid data by the instrument experts
  • presented on the same pressure grid
  • written in the same netcdf format

For convenience of users, tables of biases between each pair of instruments for each month, as well as bias uncertainties, are provided.

Updates 17 March 2015

  • New: GOMOS  bright limb data in the HARMOZ format.
  • The data are available in the folder L2/ENVISAT/GBL.
  • The readme file is also uploaded to this folder.
  • The  bias tables are also generated and uploaded.

Updates 21 November 2013

  • SCIAMACHY:  the parameter “longitude” is corrected
  • OSIRIS:  the parameter “time” is refined
  • Bias tables with SCIAMACHY are recomputed using the corrected data
